Flea and Tick Season is Rapidly Approaching

Flea and Tick Season will soon be upon us and our pets.

The good news is that their first line of defense is YOU!

And our job is to prepare you so that you and they are able to have a carefree spring/summer.

Skin disease is most commonly caused by fleas. The saliva of a flea is injected into your pet’s skin and can trigger an allergic reaction. Signs include intense itching, hair loss, scabs and red irritated skin which can lead to skin infections.

Ticks feed on your pet’s blood and can cause Lyme disease. This can cause arthritis and swelling in joints, resulting in painful lameness.

 The steps to take are:

  •   First, treat your dog, not all dogs do well with collars, (they can cause skin irritation and hair loss) you can try those expensive gels as well. The first item that has met the of approval is  Bio Active Care Flea and Tick Shampoo for Dogs and Puppies!!! It contains soothing aloe, lanolin and oatmeal! It kills fleas, ticks, lice, flea larvae and flea eggs for up to 28 days! MAKE SURE YOUR DOG IS ON HEARTWORM PILLS!!

  •  Secondly, treat your home with , Bio Active Care Carpet and Upholstery Powder. This too has met the  of approval. It starts working on contact and will treat up to 400 square feet! You should also use Bio Spot Active Care™ Flea & Tick Home Spray, it protects your home by killing fleas and ticks. It also reaches and kills fleas and ticks hidden in carpets, rugs, upholstery and pet bedding.

  • Thirdly,  apply Bio Spot Active Care Yard & Garden Spray, it kills fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, ants and other insects and can be used on lawns, trees, shrubs, roses and flowers.

If you see dead fleas/ticks that is the norm. The product is working, you may see blood stains too from your pet scratching before you treated them and or, the tick dying and gorged with blood. Make sure to provide your pet with clean bedding daily.

Remember fleas/ticks can hide in the stuffing you may need to buy a new bed.

Those pests can come in through your yard so please make sure your lawn is cut and cared for!

  • Repeat steps above as needed, IF needed!!  It was a onetime treatment  for me. Hence the  of approval!
